Most places in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia experience extreme heat during the day and sudden drop in temperatures in the night time. This is because the sand does not keep the daytime heat well. The desert climate is also characterized by exceptionally low annual rainfall.

The average summer temperature float around 45°C but has been known to go up in to the 50°C range. The heat is extreme for most of the daylight hours but tends to get cool quickly in the night time. Winter is unexpectedly chilly but temperatures seldom drop to below 0°C.

The kingdom of Saudi Arabia experiences high levels of humidity during the summer which makes having outdoor activities during the day almost unbearable, nevertheless almost no humidity is felt during winter months. Rainfall usually happens during this time between October and March and the entire annual rainfall can be carried in a few thunderstorms.
